Are You Falling For Satan's Greatest Lies of Our Time? I did!

"How's it going?"

"Great! Man, I'm BUSY! Works going great. We have more business than we know what to do with and I got that raise at the beginning of the year. It just never seems like enough though!!"

"I know what you mean."

"How's the wife and kids?

"I guess good. The wife and I see each other passing in the hall and I send the kids text messages each day to catch up and everything seems to be good. Work just has me so wrapped up, I can't even see straight. How about you?"

"I'm the same. Between

A Glutton For God

Have you ever spent much time around truly HUNGRY or STARVING people? I'm not talking about someone who has missed a meal between breakfast and dinner. I'm talking about a child or adult that hasn't eaten for days. Or, if they have eaten, it's been small morsels of food. Not life-giving, health-sustaining food with substance to it.

For nine straight years, I was blessed enough to go on a mission trip to Juarez, Mexico with our former home church Cross Bend Christian Church in Plano, Tx. We would spend a…

Spiritual Fast Food Almost Killed Me

For the better part of my adult life, I ate what I wanted, when I wanted and never worried about the health ramifications of that diet. If it's passed to you through a drive-thru window, I probably ate it. If the side of the box was taken up by a list of ingredients that looked more like a science experiment than a food product, I consumed it. Sonic chili-cheese coney; double-meat, double-cheese Whataburger; Taco Bell #7 combo with a soft taco and large Dr. Pepper, please!!

I used the excuse of my 150-mile…

Impossible? Tell That To God!

"For with God, nothing shall be impossible."

- Luke 1:37

What are you facing today that seems insurmountable?

What mountains are in front of you that seem impossible to climb?

What financial, health or emotional battle is looming so large in your life right now that you can’t see past the darkness?

I have GREAT NEWS for you!

Over 2000 years ago, an angel of the Lord stood before Mary and told her that her cousin Elizabeth who was way beyond child-bearing years was pregnant (V36); that she (Mary)…

A Major Transformation and Change

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." - Romans 12:1

It only took 52 years for me to realize the benefits of better health. That’s not true!

The truth is that it took 52 years for me to realize that I’m not getting any younger; the side effects of a not-so-healthy lifestyle of burgers, fries, chips, queso and Dr. Pepper will eventually take its toll on your body and when God’s…

I Come From A Long Line Of Love - Another Goodbye

People deal with the ups and downs of life in different manners. Some people work; some workout. Some eat; some stop eating. Some folks cook; some choose to deal with things by masking the pain with medication, alcohol or drugs. I’m not here to condemn, criticize or complain about how others deal with their life circumstances. I’m just saying all this to explain where this is coming from.

My salve comes in the form of writing.

This year has been a year of peaks, valleys, twists and turns for our family.…

What Are You Focused On Today?

What does it mean to serve a Holy God?
Less of me; more of thee.
I must decrease so He can increase.
No idols.
The daily and constant removal of the trash in your mind.
An every moment reminder of WHOSE you are.
Take every thought captive for the cause of Christ.
Recommitting yourself daily to your Creator, Counselor and Savior.
Being a light, a city on a hill, His hands and feet and letting your actions, demeanor and countenance say to those you come in contact with today that “I am proud to be a child…

Prayer, Love and Praise

"I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love you and observe Your commandments." -Nehemliah 1:5

“And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks...” Luke 17:15-16

Great thought this morning from one of my A.M. readings. Have you spent time telling your Father about your love for Him today??

Prayer isn’t like fertilizing your lawn,…Read more

Salt and Light

This morning as I read this passage..."Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others," Phil…
