Choose Wisely

"Above all, be strong and very courageous to carefully observe the whole instruction My servant Moses commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right or the left, so that you will have success wherever you go."
-Joshua 1:7

As I read one of my devotional and passages this morning, the only thing that kept running through my mind is how compromise is a funny thing. It appears in veiled ways, never as the ugly, disfigured and unattractive beast that it truly is; it may appear attractive, pleasing to the eye and rather seductive and sometimes - dare I say MANY TIMES - very inconspicuous. But in reality it is an ugly cancer that starts below the surface and grows out of control until it literally destroys its host.

Their have been numerous times in my life where the choice to compromise or hold to the truths of scripture were placed before me. I'd love to say that truth and Christ won out more times than not, but I'd be lying. What I've had to learn the hard way is that compromise comes with a very high price tag. As I look back on my life, there's a simple mathematical fact that holds true - Compromise ONLY subtracts; Truth adds AND multiplies...to your life, your legacy, your riches, your walk, your reputation, who you are in Christ and on and on.

Each day you step out of bed, you have a decision to make - Live in a world of gray and look to justify your actions and words by using the world's standards and measuring stick; or live for God, sift all you do and say through His word and walk in The Light in all your ways (Matt 5:37).

As Joshua says in the closing pages of his book, "..,choose this day whom you will serve...as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

Choices have consequences. Make your's matter.
